Linking crop resilience and biodiversity

Root2Res & BarleyMicroBreed Parliamentary Session

This dedicated policy session is the result of the synergy of Root2Res and BarleyMicroBreed two Horizon Europe projects funded under the same Cluster 6 Biodiversity call, and their novel understanding of the biodiversity link between resilient crops and soil health.

Bringing together research partners, advisory board members, practitioners and value chain associations, the parliamentary session will provide a platform to discuss how scientific evidence can shape future agricultural policy. Root2Res and BarleyMicroBreed will underpin a joint policy package developed around three priority areas aligned with the EU Vision for Agriculture and Food, offering concrete recommendations to to strengthen farm system competitiveness and food security by providing a policy package to support better trade offs between environmental resilience and yield performance.
