Welcome to Root2Res Toolboxes

The Root2Res Toolboxes are a knowledge hub for researchers, geneticists, breeders, and farmers. It brings together key materials and results from the Root2Res project, turning scientific research into practical tools that can be applied across a variety of crops and agro-climatic conditions.

This platform will help you explore relevant root traits, understand how roots interact with the rhizosphere, and see how these interactions affect plant efficiency under abiotic stress (excess or lack of water and nutrients).

In order to provide easy access to the most relevant resources in both research and practice, the Toolbox is organised into three themes: Phenotyping, Genotyping, and Modelling.

Phenotyping Toolbox

Discover methods and tools to study root systems and traits, revealing how plants grow and perform in different agro-climatic conditions.

Genotyping Toolbox

Explore genetic data that reveal genes expression in each crop and enable the identification of key molecular markers linked to stress adaptation and plasticity.

Modelling Toolbox

Access models that simulate crop efficiency under a set of conditions. Discover the importance of each root trait in different scenarios.
